A useful landmark when you're giving us directions is St Edmund's Church on St Edmund's Close, whose tower dates from around 1200 and is the oldest building in the city of Derby. The shops at Park Farm sit at the heart of the suburb, with Portway Junior and Infant Schools on Robincroft Road — alongside the Allestree Recreation Ground and Allestree Cricket Club, founded back in 1860 — and Allestree Woodlands School on Blenheim Drive.
